Baby Shower Theme Ideas
With so many baby shower themes,
it
can be hard to find the right one — and it's been
getting harder. "The number of themes and types of
showers has increased dramatically over the past 10
years," says Kristen Lyons, founder of PartyPail and
a professional event coordinator.
Do you go co-ed? Stick to tradition? Hold it at
home, at a restaurant, at a spa? The choices you'll
face are far beyond those that your mother dealt
with. "All the new possibilities make finding the
shower that fits the mom-to-be that much more
difficult — but potentially more rewarding, too,"
Lyons says.
To cut through the clutter, Lyons recommends that you start by thinking about
the mom-to-be's style. Tailor the party to her personality.
OK, that isn't always as easy as it sounds. But chances are she'll fit roughly into one of the following categories, and you can narrow it down from there:
And one more thing. Be aware of your own style — especially if it's not the same as the mom-to-be's. As the host, you need to be comfortable with the theme. The more you love the shower, the more it will show and the more the guest of honor will see your sincerity.
