"Mad Libs" Shower Game

Object of the Baby Shower Game

The object of the baby shower game is to have the
guests fill in blanks to a story that you have written
about the new baby or the parents-to-be's new life.

Supplies Needed

1 story that you write
1 piece of paper per guest with the needed verbs,
adjectives, adverbs, etc.
1 pen or pencil per guest
Enough books or clipboardsfor the guests to write on

Game Prep

1. Write a story about the parents-to-be's new life or the baby on the way
2. Remove 5 to 8 words (depending on the length of your story) and put in blank spaces.
3. Under each blank space make note of what type of word needs to go there (adjective, adverb, noun, verb, emotion, etc.)
4. Be sure to also make note of what word you removed.

At the Baby Shower

1. Give each guest a piece of paper and pen or pencil.
2. Ask the guests to write down a word based on the type (adjective, verb, etc.) you request.
3. Once you are done requesting the words, pass out the story and have them fill in the blanks with the words they chose.
4. Then ask for a few volunteers to read their stories. They are usually really funny!
